Polish up your act and present your interpretation of science - presenting your chance to bring a breath of fresh air to science communication.
Want to perform at the first ever science fringe?
Want to train with the best?
OneEighty, the all new Edinburgh science festival fringe want to offer you the opportunity to take part in Underground Talent - a showcase of the UK's up-and-coming science communicators. Not only are we offering you a stairway to success, we are throwing in fun and informative training workshops with some of the biggest names in science communication to help you on your way! After fine-tuning your presenting skills and hearing from the experts (no Simon Cowell characters, we promise!), performances will be held a week later in a theatre bar with a cabaret style setting.
Performances will range from 5 to 30 minutes, depending on your wow factor and you can choose any science-themed topic. There will be prizes for the most inspired acts too, so you really can't afford to miss out! Perhaps you'd like to rap about your favourite Guatemalan moths, or explain Keplar's law of planetary motion through the medium of pole dancing - if so we'd like to hear from you!
We are looking for enthusiastic, confident and inspired individuals to bring a breath of fresh air to science communication. If this sounds right up your street, get in touch with andrew.morris@scifri.org.uk right away! We have a limited number of slots so you'd better be quick!
